One of the key areas that we are heavily invested in is sustainability and our impact on the environment. We have pledged to be carbon neutral by 2030. To achieve this, we have made many changes across the business, including those listed below.
Sustainable branches
We launched our first-ever sustainable branch in Maidenhead in September 2024. There is a host of features that make this the most sustainable model possible, for example:
🌱 Powered by 100% renewable energy
🌱 Doors, skirtings, partitions, and countertops sourced from locally produced FSC-certified wood
🌱 All furniture made from recycled or upcycled materials (and will be recycled or upcycled at the end of its lifecycle)
🌱 Low-energy LED technology for external and internal lighting
🌱 Use of low-VOC paints, releasing fewer gases and reducing indoor air pollution
🌱 Carpet made from 65% post-industrial recycled content (and the supplier will repurpose and recycle when it reaches the end of life).
This became the blueprint for any new branches or branch refurbishments of ours going forwards.

Green The UK partnership
In partnership with Green The UK, we planted a tree for any new property that was sold or let with us. From 2021-2023, over 26,000 trees were planted and customers get regular updates on their tree’s growth by email!
This partnership developed further so that we can positively help the environment in more ways. We helped restore approx. 300 sq m of native oysters in 2023 (they help filter the ocean), and we're helping restore 70,000 sq m of wildflower-rich meadows from 2023 into 2024. Another of our projects with them is helping preserve kelp off of the South Coast.
Donating unwanted furniture
When refurbishing our offices or branches, we are donating unwanted office furniture to reuse schemes, such as Warp It.
Zero to landfill
We have implemented a strategy to overhaul our waste management processes and are now sending zero waste to landfill.
Rolling out smart meters
To enable us to monitor our energy usage and target further reduction of CO2e, we’re rolling out smart meters across our network.
Reducing paper use
