FIND INSURANCE

10 simple steps to renting your next home

  • Step 1: Understand your budget

Work out your finances and how much you can afford. Read our tenant information to understand the upfront cost to expect with renting. No deposit? Consider the no-deposit option.

  • Step 2: Start your search

Visit one of our local branches or contact us online to register as an active tenant. We give you a call when a suitable property comes to market.

  • Step 3: Arrange viewing

Book viewings with us to see the properties you like.

  • Step 4: Secure your home

The rental market is competitive. So act quickly when deciding on a property.

  • Step 5: References and credit checks

If you’ve rented a property before, you must provide prospective agents with references. As your letting agent, we will arrange credit checks.

  • Step 6: Pay your deposit

Unless you are in The Residency and enjoying our no-deposit option, you’ll need to pay a deposit of up to 5 weeks’ rent to secure the home.

  • Step 7: Sign your tenancy agreement

The tenancy agreement is a legally binding document and outlines the tenancy terms. Read this carefully before you sign.

  • Step 8: Move in

If we manage the property, one of our move managers will let you know when to collect your keys. Otherwise, the landlord will be in touch.

  • Step 9: During your tenancy

If we manage your property, we will visit during the year to check everything is okay and answer any questions.

  • Step 10: Renew or leave

You can renew the agreement or leave the property when your tenancy ends. If you decide to move on, we arrange a check-out with an independent inventory company to check the property’s condition.
